Der Antrag der US-Staatsanwältin für DC, Jeanine Pirro, der darauf abzielt, Allen in Haft zu halten, enthält zwei Selfies des mutmaßlichen Schützen, der in einem schwarzen Anzug vor einem Spiegel in seinem Hotelzimmer steht, mit einem leichten Grinsen im Gesicht. Er ist mit zwei Schusswaffen und mehreren Messern ausgestattet, die in seinen Gürtel gesteckt sind. Die Staatsanwaltschaft behauptet, dass es sich dabei um dieselben Waffen handelt, die nach dem Angriff von Allen beschlagnahmt wurden.
